The HZ has modern facilities at its disposal, including lecture halls and laboratories, which all boast excellent equipment. The interactive information network InfoNet also contributes to an optimal study environment. In addition they also have a bookshop, a hairdressing salon and a student employment agency.
Each year, HZ ranks among the top ten universities of professional education in the Netherlands (54 in total). The Choice Guide for Higher Education is a guide that describes the quality of all higher education in the Netherlands. Out of the 18 programs the HZ has to offer, 9 are in the Dutch top 5.

ACCOMMODATION One of HZ advantages is that housing in Vlissingen is easier to find and more affordable than in other student towns. Most students live in a student house in or near the city-centre which is at biking distance from the university and walking distance from the beautiful boulevard. The university is able to offer you a room at “The Ruyter Campus” or at "L'Escaut campus" for the duration of five or ten months. A different period can be negotiated within reasonable limits. In these completely renovated 2 or 3 bedrooms apartments, an internet connection will be provided. The accommodation offered is furnished and the rent is generally all-inclusive. In these student accommodation, you will have shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Although housing in Vlissingen is more affordable than in other student towns, accommodation in the Netherlands is not cheap. If you are looking for a room, you should be prepared for a monthly rent of €250,- up to €350-. More information is available in HZ University's homepage . SCHOLARSHIPS AND LOANS From 1 September 2007 EU/EEA students can apply for a loan to pay their tuition fees. This loan is known as `loan tuition fees’ (in Dutch: collegegeldkrediet) and is paid monthly. You repay the sum you borrowed after your studies. The above mentioned programmes can also be taken as 3-year programmes, which means more intense studying but it could be a way to save on costs. This opportunity is available for ambitious and very good students. It means you do more modules in less time. You can also switch back to the 4 year track any time.
