When applying to a programme, there is different information that the institutions need from you to assess your qualification to the course. Here is the information on what kind of documents you may be asked to provide. The necessary documents you need to provide us with depend on the programme you are applying to - check the programmes page to see what extra documents (other than those asked for in the application) you need in order to apply.

In case of Hakes on-line application you need to scan these documents and upload in the system.

All applicants have to provide us with:

1. picture - quality profile picture, as in a passport.
2. passport copy - suggestably at least three years to expiry date.
3. application agreement - can be downloaded from your application
4. language test results (in case you will not take Hakes language test)
5. documents proving your previous education

   • high school diploma, exam results sheet and grade sheet, and also 11th grade grades' transcript
   • Academic Curriculum and Course descriptions from you bachelor studies. If you have not earned your Bachelor's degree diploma, please enclose a transcript of records which shows the examination results obtained so far, course contents etc that would show what subjects you study.

6. academic reference - a letter of recommendation from your teacher in English. You can find the form here.
7. Letter of motivation

Depending on the programme you are applying to you might also be asked to provide:

Portfolio

Art Portfolio - Normally 15-20 pieces of work, which may show evidence of applicants creative ability to draw, paint, design, model, photograph, sculpt, compose. The following abilities might be looked for (this is a suggestion and not a strict requirement): to draw accurately and to „think through drawing"; use a variety of media and colour creatively; evidence design sensitivity and creativity; make accurate models; evidence a critical eye; create in three dimensions, aesthetically compose and order a variety of materials.

• Within the portfolio it is probable that the prospective architectural student is likely to have a strong emphasis of three dimensional realisations particularly related to buildings and architecture. Evidence of visiting old and new architecture and making sketches is particularly important.

Design projects portfolio (10-15 design projects, with dates and descriptions for each image).

Portfolio of writing - samples of written work, up to 3000 words of your recent writing. Normally this should be fiction, as the primary focus of the course is on fiction writing. It may be a single short story or several shorter pieces, or it could be an extract from a longer work.

Letter of application (for MA Creative Writing in ARU) - not longer than two pages. This should set out your answers to the following questions:

• why have you chosen this piece of writing for us to consider?
• What are its strengths and weaknesses as a piece of writing?
• Why might we want to offer you a place on the course?
• What experience of fiction writing do you have?
• What are your hopes and expectations of the course?

RN license
Cpy of your Registered Nurse licence

CRB checks/Disclosure - is a police clearance - a police clearance certificate is an official document, issued by the police service of the relevant country, certifying the criminal record of the applicant.
Successful applicants to any course which requires a CRB enhanced disclosure will need to provide a letter from their local police force confirming that they have no convictions.

Financial statement
U.S. law requires financial statements from a bank or other financial institution certifying the student's ability to fund the cost of attendance for one academic year. Figures should be in U.S. dollars and must be certified as an official document by the bank or financial institution. A sponsor may be used, if the sponsor attaches a signed letter stating that he/she will support the student until completion of a degree at Bellarmine University. If a sponsor is used, the sponsor's bank statement should accompany the letter.

GRE results
The Graduate Record Examinations General Test measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and critical thinking and analytical writing skills. More info

Occupational Health clearance
(for Minoan International College there is a specific form that you can download from your application and that your doctor needs to fill in.)

In Anglia Ruskin if a candidate is shortlisted for a interview for one of the course which require occupational health screening they will be sent a form to complete. They may have to refer to the family doctor for answers to some of the questions but other than that no they would not be required to get an overview from their family doctor.
