Aberystwyth

The town of Aberystwyth is located on the beautiful shores of Cardigan Bay on the west coast of Wales, between three hills and two beaches, and hosts some castle ruins, a pier and a harbour. It is easily accessible by road and rail. The town has a population of about 13,500 people, but serves a local population of about 27,000. As the main market centre for mid and west Wales, its shopping area offers most modern retail outlets.

Aberystwyth is in a secure, low crime area. The coastline to the north and south is full of fine beaches, whilst inland there are lots of wooded valleys. Living costs are much lower here that in the rest of UK.

However, Aberystwyth is not just a pleasant market town, it is very much a university town too. The Aberyswyth University has a long and fruitful relationship with the town and students are welcomed by residents.
Student life in Aberystwyth has a relaxed atmosphere, with a surprisingly lively social scene. The closeness of the town to the campuses means that everything is within walking distance. For students, it is only a short walk from the halls of residences to their departments, to the sports facilities, and to the town centre without time-consuming and costly commuting.

In addition to superb study facilities town offers you some of the best scenery and outdoor activities in Britain. As a major tourist centre, Aberystwyth has a lot of restaurants and good places to eat and plenty of general activities and facilities. It also hosts some of the most exhilarating mountain bike routes in Britain.
